APD Records Center for Anchorage Busted Mugshots

All Anchorage Municipality busted mugshots and arrest record requests must go through the APD Public Records Center. This is an online portal. Walk-in and mail requests for initial filings are not accepted. You need to make an account on the site first. Once logged in, you can file your request and track its status. The system has tutorial videos to help new users get started with account creation and form filing.

There are a few strict rules. You can only request one case or incident number per submission. Documents have to be asked for separately from other media like audio, video, or photos. If you want your own records, fill out the Adult Consent Form. For records about a child, use the Juvenile Consent Form. The consent form lets APD release unredacted data to you. Without it, they will black out the personal details of the person named in the report. APD processed more than 19,000 requests in 2025, so wait times can vary. The records department can be reached at (907) 786-8600.

The fee schedule changed in 2025. Previously, APD charged $40 per hour after the first ten free minutes. Under the new rules taking effect in August 2026, requests that take under three hours to fill are free. Simple requests must be done within 10 days. Intermediate requests get 20 days. Complex requests follow a rolling production schedule. This saves requesters a lot of money on routine pulls.

Anchorage Municipality is a unified city-borough that covers a large area. Most of the population lives in the city of Anchorage itself, but the municipality stretches into several communities. Anchorage is the main urban center with the bulk of police activity and court filings. Eagle River sits to the north and falls under the same APD jurisdiction for arrest records and booking.

Both cities share the same court system, the same jail facility, and the same records request process. If you need busted mugshots or arrest records from anywhere in the municipality, the APD Public Records Center is your starting point regardless of which community the arrest happened in.

Anchorage Municipality borders the Matanuska-Susitna Borough to the north and the Kenai Peninsula Borough to the south. Cases sometimes cross borough lines, especially on the highway corridors. The Kenai Peninsula Borough uses the Wildwood Correctional Complex for its bookings. The Fairbanks North Star Borough handles Interior Alaska arrests through the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
