Juneau Police Department Busted Mugshots

The Juneau Police Department handles all arrest records and busted mugshots for the unified city and borough. JPD is at 6255 Alaway Avenue, Juneau, AK 99801. The main line is (907) 586-0600. The fax is (907) 463-4808. The Records Division is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The records supervisor can be reached at (907) 586-0620, and the investigations sergeant is at (907) 586-0634. JPD logged 1,465 arrests in 2022 across crimes against people, property, and public order.

All records requests must be in writing. JPD will not accept verbal requests from anyone outside the department. Insurance companies and attorneys can send requests on their letterhead or use the approved form. Other police departments and government agencies can use agency email or letterhead. You need to provide your full legal name, social security number, date of birth, the date and location of the incident, the case or incident number, and the reason for the request. JPD gives a status update within five business days of getting your request. Requests go first come, first served.

Juneau busted mugshots police department main page

The JPD main page above is your starting point for any records request. From there you can reach the records request form, the warrant list, and contact info for each division. JPD sends records by U.S. mail, email, or hands them directly to the authorized person.

Note: JPD will not release police reports that are still open and under investigation or cases where charges are pending adjudication.

Juneau Warrant List and Arrest Data

JPD posts a weekly warrant list pulled from public court records. The list shows people with active warrants in Juneau. It gets updated once a week. If you see your name on it, call (907) 586-0600 to make arrangements. Tips on warrant subjects also go to that same number. This is one of the few places in Alaska where a police department puts warrants on its own site rather than sending you to CourtView.

Juneau busted mugshots and arrest records contain standard booking data. That means a front and profile photo, fingerprints for all ten fingers, a property inventory, and the charge sheet. The biographical block has the full legal name, date of birth, and a physical description with height, weight, hair color, eye color, race, and gender. The arrest block shows the date, time, and location of the arrest, the statutory citation for each charge, and the arresting officer. A DNA sample is also taken from the inner cheeks during booking. All of this sits in the JPD records management system with passcode security.

Juneau busted mugshots warrant list page

The warrant list page shown above is updated weekly and pulled from court records. It is not the same as a full case search. For detailed case info, you still need CourtView or a formal records request.

Juneau Records Request Process

The formal records request page at juneau.org/police/records-request walks you through what JPD needs. You must give your name, address, phone, email, the specific items you want, the date and time and address of the incident, and the case number if you have one. Statistical requests are handled separately from standard record pulls. JPD is currently short-staffed, which means longer wait times than usual.

Certain records are off limits. Third-party reports from other law enforcement agencies, hospitals, or fire departments will not be released by JPD. Juvenile arrest records get sealed when the person turns 18 under AS 47.12.300. Social security numbers, medical information, and confidential informant details are always redacted. If a record has been sealed or expunged by court order, JPD will respond that no records exist for that person. Media gets no greater access than the general public. If one outlet gets a record, all outlets can get it.
